Review highlights
Based on 50 reviewsWellesley Lounge is praised for its generous portion sizes and varied menu offerings, which have expanded significantly over time. Customers frequently highlight the quality of signature dishes such as fish and chips, wings, and prime rib beef dip. The fries receive particular acclaim, often drawing favorable comparisons to well-known chains. Service is consistently described as attentive, friendly, and efficient, contributing to a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. While the food is generally well-received, there is occasional feedback suggesting minor improvements, such as experimenting with different fry cuts or adding specials on slower nights. Despite being a new or returning establishment in the area, some note a surprisingly quiet ambiance during peak times, indicating potential for increased customer engagement.
We tried the new Wellesley Lounge tonight (Sunday). We were 1 of 2 tables. Food came out fast and it was good. We ordered Yes Fish and chips and wings. The homemade tartar sauce was more like mayo with dill mixed in. The fries and fish were fantastic. The coleslaw was very different, but ok. The wings were very good! I think for a Sunday night it would be a great idea to add a special like roast beef or prime rib to get more people in the doors. The menu was good but more of pub fair, great for Friday Saturday nights, but maybe not so great for a Sunday evening…. Just my thoughts.
Was in on Friday. Alexis (I think that was her name) was fantastic! She was super quick, kept our drinks topped up without us even having to ask, and already had all the condiments set on the table before our food came out. She was friendly and easy to talk to, we ended up having such a nice conversation with her. Really sweet and attentive service! The prime rib beef dip was excellent, and you can really notice the positive changes in food since the reopening. The food and service have definitely improved. Only small suggestion.... the restaurant could use a bit more décor to make it feel cozier, but overall, great experience!
Amazing experience! The chicken leg dinner was perfectly cooked, juicy and flavorful. The service was quick and friendly, and the overall vibe of the restaurant was super cozy. Highly recommend!
It's great to have a restaurant back in town!!!! The service was great, our waitress was attentive and quick with food and drinks. I had ordered the buffalo chicken poutine, it was a large portion. I wish it was served with think cut fries instead of the thin shoe lace fries. The fish and chips is a large portion. Looking forward to trying other items on the menu.
the portions here are HUGE!! i went with a group and all our meals were very big which is amazing for the price! their menu has also doubled in size since i’ve last been here too! the fries are amazing, reminds me of swiss chalet fries which i love. the waitress was super kind and attentive. i hope to see more people here as it was completely dead on a saturday night which breaks my heart. the only thing i would comment on is the smell, it honestly smells like a basement so i think some air freshener would be a good idea. other than that im very satisfied and excited to return!
